About MATA

Mid-America Technology Alliance (MATA) is bringing people and organizations together to make Springfield Missouri a leading technology community

Our Strategic Initiatives

Facilitate connections among members of the technology ecosystem of Southwest Missouri and showcase the activities and energy of Springfield’s creative and technology community through the promotion and support of events hosted by MATA and various other groups and organizations in Southwest Missouri that rely on technology to succeed (e.g. Booths at Area Events, Tech Calendar, Hack 4 Good Weekend, monthly Tech Group Leader lunches)
  2. Promote an awareness of technology career pathways to middle school faculty, students, and administrators in various school districts in Southwest Missouri (e.g. CSI Springfield)
  3. Support efforts to attract secondary students to careers in the technology industry (e.g. GO CAPS, OTC Middle CollegeOTC Career Center)
  4. Support efforts to increase engagement among high school graduates and companies in the Springfield region who produce technology or rely on technology for their competitive advantage (e.g. H4G High School Coding Contest)

History

The Mid-America Technology Alliance (MATA) was founded by Sherry Coker in 2009 to connect the various stakeholders in the technology economy.

MATA began hosting monthly technology meetups before many of the current tech groups were born. We replaced our meetups with monthly Technology Group Leader meetings that facilitate communication among local Professional Groups and User Groups.
